Activities

We are happy to offer participants a selection of activities to enjoy the host city and get to know other colleagues better. All activities are optional and are not included in the congress registration fee.

1. Cathedral and Giralda
The Cathedral of Seville, XV century, is the Christian Gothic cathedral with the largest surface of the world and is built on the remains of the old mosque, hence part of the Giralda. Inside we can find from works of art of Murillo or Zurbarán to the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

2. Real Alcazar
It is the oldest royal palace in use in Europe. In fact it consists of several palaces and gardens surrounded by a wall. It was built in the Middle Ages.

3. Tower of Gold
It is the emblem of the city, it seems that takes its name by the golden glitter that its tiles reflected in the river Guadalquivir. It was built as part of the city’s defensive system. At the moment it houses the Naval Museum of Seville.

4. Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España
Plaza de España is located in the Maria Luisa Park. It is an impressive architectural ensemble built for the Ibero-American exhibition of 1929. In its banks is represented every Spanish city and its four bridges on the canal represent the ancient 4 kingdoms of Spain.

5. Neighborhood of Sta. Cruz
It is the most charming neighborhood with its cobbled streets, squares and courtyards that has its origin in the old Jewish quarter of the city.

6. Sevilla Mushrooms (Metropol Parasol)
